Don’t you just love it when the world turns into a stunning autumn canvas of red, yellow and brown? I have always found it strange that although fall is a time when the weather starts to get colder, the golden glow of those stunning earthy colours make you feel really cosy inside. #iykyk (if you know you know).

I’m really excited to be sharing my top five ideas to help you add a little bit of ‘spice’ to your Thanksgiving decor this year. Make sure to share your ideas below in the comments… I’d love to know what you think!

1. What is the best colour palette for my Thanksgiving decor?

I’m all about the traditional autumn colour palette (warm greens, golden yellows, orangey reds and lots of golden browns), but sometimes, it’s nice to add a little ‘oomph’, don’t you think?

This year, why not also add pops of complimentary colours such as blue. I’m not talking navy blue here, think blues such as turquoise, teal, ocean and sapphire.

When adding ornaments and furnishings into your home, avoid bright shiny colours. So ditch the silver this fall and opt for gold. Check out this helpful colour guide here… https://www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/blog/jo/autumn-explaining-the-different-types

2. How do I bring the outdoors into my home this autumn?

Preserved leaves. They make the most beautiful and natural decoration. Whether you plan to make your own art masterpiece, decorate your dinner table, or just pop some in a dish on your coffee table, beautiful golden and orange brown leaves can instantly bring that earthy autumn feel to the home.

Wax melts are my personal favourite way of bringing instant warmth into any home (or work space!). The smell of pumpkins, cinnamon, berries, bonfires and fallen leaves can instantly transform your home into an autumnal haven. If you have an open fire or log burner, even better!

You can’t celebrate fall without a hot earthy drink to cosy up with after a long day of work. Here are a few recipes to get you started (and they’re all vegan!). You can of course switch to any milk you like!

3. How do I decorate my Thanksgiving table this fall?

You have probably heard the saying that the devil is in the detail, and it is totally true! Once you have chosen your favourite colour palette (at the beginning of this blog) it’s time for the fun part… decoration. This year, we love these beautifully preserved leaves and golden painted acorn decorations which you can reuse. Plus, these gorgeous handmade pumpkins which come in so many different sizes… perfect for any table scape and easy to mix and match!
